Waste Management

  The lab

Edelchemie operates a number of waste management facilities all of which are fully licensed, monitored and frequently inspected by the regulatory authorities. In addition, we are fully licensed to transport waste materials by road and move wastes across national borders to our treatment facilities.

  The lab

We provide our clients with recovery services for silver, gold, palladium and platinum from a wide range of residues. In addition, we offer recovery options for non-ferrous metals such as copper, nickel and tin from industrial residues and liquid chemical wastes. To complete our range of services, we provide waste management options for disposal of hazardous wastes.

The lab   In-house treatment options include shredding, milling, detoxification and custom tailored physico/chemical treatments in preparation for sampling and the recovery of metals and other components.
Strategic partnerships with other major waste management firms complete our range of competitive options with land fill, incineration, recycling and segregation.

The lab   Shredding and milling of solid residues enables us to homogenise waste materials so that appropriate samples for analyses can be obtained. Detoxification of toxic liquids such as plating chemicals is often an essential first step in the process to recover precious and other metals.

The lab   A range of physico-chemical treatments is available to neutralise liquid waste streams and separate precious and non-ferrous metals, producing specific concentrates and filter cakes. These are then processed further either in-house or via external secondairy smelters to produce high grade metals for resale to the market.
